Having completed my first Honda CB750 Cafe Racer Build Project, I was very interested to find a part finished project nearby which I could resiste picking up. Not least of all, the price of just $800 complete was only a little more than the Delkevic Custom Exhaust Syatem that was already fitted to the bike.
There was a lot to do, it was a non runner and the electrics were a mess. But it had some nice touches which were completed suc has the rear hoop on the chopped frame and a healthy AnitGravity battery.

Cosmetically, I started with refurbishing the front wheel, having decided on an overall color scheme of orane and black, while working on the fuel tank which was in pretty poor shape and a disgusting chocolate brown color.
Cosmetically, I started with refurbishing the front wheel, having decided on an overall color scheme of orane and black, while working on the fuel tank which was in pretty poor shape and a disgusting chocolate brown color.
Carrying that same color scheme through to the engine, I decided to do something a little different again. While the main block was a semi gloss black as usual I highlighted the spark plug wells with the orange engine paint, which I think turned out really nicely.
Other elements of the engine, various covers etc. were also highlighted with the orange at the same time as being generally refurbished and tidied up. Orange Handle Bar Grips also tied in nicely with the color scheme
Rather than using aftermarket billet foot pegs, because the positioning of the mounts was quite complex on this bike, I used the original factory hardware, stripped of the rubber and made some custom aluminum sleeves for the pegs which gave the bike a racey feel.
As I said, the electrics were a total mess and I decided to get a MotoGadget M-Unit Blue to effectively start from scratch and have a clean electrical install. I had been wanting to try a MotoGadget M-Unit for a while and this seemed like the perfect opportunity to do so. The M-Unit and all the other electricals, such as a 30amp trip fuse and other compenents were housed in a tray which I fabricated which sat under the seat, with mesh sides.
The seat itself was a ready made aftermarket product from Amazon. The dimensions were near perfact for the base the boys had already fabricated and it just required a minor modification at the rear to accomdate the seat, which again added a neat little orange flash to the rear end.
This Honda CB750 Cafe Racer Build Project is nearly completed. Again, just the ignition system needs troubleshooting and possibly the carburetors need a clean, rebuild and adjusting.
