My first MV and first real custom motorcycle project. Not your average first custom build. Most people tend towards a Honda CB or BMW R series, perhaps because there's a lot of parts designed for just that, custom seats and other elements for turning these models into a café racer. Somehow, to me, that makes it perhaps not so custom.

Another reason for chosing my MV was that it was already in my garage and in need of some TLC anyway. Here's how it looked when I first got it. It had already been customized with a silver/blue scheme and carbon fiber fairing panels.

But then I threw it in a ditch, albeit at only 20-30mph and trashed one of the carbon fiber panels. To replace that alone was several hundred dollars and tehre were some other sctraches on the seat and front fairing too. So, I elected to go for a complete body kit. It was cheaper than getting the parts individually. So I went matt black.

But of course, being a cheap body kit, the fit was bad, though the finish was OK and I ended up repairing the old seat and using as much of the original panels as I could rescue. I got bored with the matt black after a while and resprayed the tank and seat a light blue, inspired by a later MV F3 model.

And that's where I decided that everything needed doing properly and if I was going to "restore" it that probably wouldn't be worth while, so why not make it something special, unique. With nothing to lose or gain to be honest as I will no doubt keep the finished product, I embark on this project as soon as there is garage space!

The intention is to start the project fall or winter of 2020 and already some plans have been made.
